The Lottery and Other Stories - Shirley Jackson This is the first material I had to read for my Literature and Media class. Even though it's just a short story with just a few pages to begin with, I had to reread for a few times just so I didn't misinterpret the message it's trying to convey.

This isn't your typical bedtime story. In fact, don't read this before going to sleep. You'll be haunted with those not-so-inviting images. By the end of the story, you'll be left sick to the pit of your stomach, trying to digest what kind of story you've read. You'll be shock to know that 'the event' which is supposed to joyful is not so joyful after all. Can't tell you much, or I'd be spoiling the story for you. Read it. After all, it's only a few pages.
